The MergerSight Group is a global, student-run financial research organization that offers a direct gateway into the skills, experience, and network needed for a career in finance. We focus on producing professional-grade analyses of high-profile mergers and acquisitions (M&A), breaking down deal structures, modeling financial outcomes, and evaluating strategic rationale. Our mission is to be the preeminent source of comprehensive and insightful research in the field of M&A, leveraging the intellect, passion, and diverse perspectives of our talented members. What began as a single chapter abroad has evolved into a collaborative network of top universities across North America, Europe, and Asia, enabling members to work alongside equally ambitious peers worldwide.
Multidisciplinary New Member Education
Through a rigorous 10-week new member education program, we prepare incoming members with the technical skills, industry knowledge, and professional polish expected of an analyst in Finance and M&A. Training covers the full spectrum of M&A fundamentals — from valuation methodologies like DCF, comps, and precedent transactions, to accounting, deal structure analysis, accretion/dilution modeling, and understanding strategic rationale. By the end of the program, members can confidently dissect complex deals, speak fluently about market drivers, and produce research that meets the standards of industry professionals. The goal is not just to educate, it’s to ensure every member is ready to stand out in competitive recruiting and contribute meaningfully to live MergerSight reports from day one.
